Marvel Comics' planned Legend of Shang Chi one-scene has been delayed for four weeks.

This 32-page special pits Shang-Khi against Daredevil/X-Men villain Lady Deathstrike, but fans looking for that match-sprouted will have to wait until February 3. Author Alyssa Wong and creative person Andie Tong's one-shot was originally planned to go along sale January 6.

"Deadly hands vs. noxious blades! Someone has been stealth artifacts of WMD prospective. It's rising to Shang-Chi to find this person and stop them," reads Wonder's solicitation for the issue. "But is atomic number 2 prepared to go toe-to-toe with Gentlewoman Deathstrike?!"

The detail artifact they'll be fighting over is some typecast of magic sword that devours souls - apparently not Magik's Soulsword or the Murasama Steel often associated with Wolverine. Speaking of Wolverine, however, Wong says she chose old Michigander foe Lady Deathstrike for this story as a executable foe for Shang-Chi.

"For this adventure, I wanted to nether regio Shang-Chi against a villain with an equally agile, physical fighting style. Lady Deathstrike seemed like a natural choice," Wong said when the book was announced. "She's got adamantium claws and an iron will. In the past, she's faced off against Wolverine (many multiplication!) and even been a reluctant hero. She's a good deal of fun. Lady Deathstrike is someone who posterior hold her own against Shang-Chi; if he wants to pound her, atomic number 2'll have to get notional."

Wong firstly learned virtually Shang dynasty-Ki in 2019's State of war of the Realms: New Agents of Map collection, and rapidly came to be a fan imputable his "Good Older Pal energy."

"I suppose Shang-Qi's super interesting: helium's a guy World Health Organization goes toe-to-toe with superpowered metahumans daily, and his limited power is that he's really, really good at martial arts," Wong explained. "That's it. But that's all he inevitably; he's fast, acrobatic, and literally the best at what helium does. I feel like Shang-Ch'i radiates In force Older Brother vigor. He'll protect you and buy in you snacks afterward. What else do you really need?"

Legend of Shang-Chi #1 goes on sale happening Feb 3. The moving picture Shang-Chi and the Fable of the Ten Rings opens in theaters July 9.
